‘The Mysterious Benedict Society’ adapted by Disney+

Disney+ has dropped the trailer of its upcoming comedy-adventure series ‘The Mysterious Benedict Society.’ The series will start streaming from Friday, June 25, with new episodes releasing weekly.

The series is based on a young adult book series, written by Trenton Lee Stewart. It follows four gifted orphan children summoned to a boarding school, where an eccentric Mr. Benedict plans to send them on a secret mission to stop a plot that possesses threat at a global level.

The trailer opens with shots of children competing with each other in a selection process. The selected candidates include Reynie, Sticky, Kate, and Constance, each of them holding a special skill. They soon meet with their benefactor, Mr. Benedict, who sends them on a mission against his sinister twin brother.

The Mysterious Benedict Society is executive produced by Sonar Entertainment, 20th Television, Karen Kehela Sherwood, James Bobin, Jamie Tarses, Deepak Nayar, Matt Manfredi, and Phil Hay. Manfredi and Hay also hold the credit as writers and creators.

Tony Hale portrays the role of twin brothers Mr. Benedict and Mr. Curtain in the series. Other actors include Ryan Hurst, MaameYaa Boafo, Kristen Schaal, Gia Sandhu, Emmy DeOliveira, Seth Carr, Mystic Inscho, and Marta Timofeeva.

This series was first under development at Hulu, but it later shifted to Disney+ in 2020.
