‘The Morning Show’ season 2 to release on September 17

Apple TV+’s broadcast journalism drama series ‘The Morning Show’ is returning with a season 2 on September 17.

Season 1 followed Alex Levy (Jennifer Aniston), a top news anchor who is insecure about her job after her long-time co-host Mitch Kessler (Steve Carrel) is fired for sexual harassment.

She is further threatened when the young and haphazard journalist Bradley Jackson (Reese Witherspoon) is hired to be her partner for ‘The Morning Show’.

A lot has changed since, with the season 2 teaser revealing that Alex and Bradley are no longer part of the network after their decision to expose the organisation’s toxic culture at the end of season 1.

As per Apple, season 2 “finds ‘The Morning Show’ team emerging from the wreckage of Alex and Bradley’s actions, to a new UBA and a world in flux, where identity is everything and the chasm between who we present as and who we really are comes into play”.

Apart from Aniston, Witherspoon and Carrel, the cast features Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Bel Powley, Desean Terry, Janina Gavankar, Tom Irwin and Marcia Gay Harden.

New additions include Greta Lee as Stella Bak, uairi O’Connor as Ty Fitzgerald and Hasan Minhaj as Eric Nomani, Holland Taylor as Cybil Richards, Tara Karsian as Gayle Berman, Valeria Golino as Paola Lambruschini and Julianna Margulies as Laura Peterson.
