The Matrix Resurrections comes as a reboot of the last movie wherein both main characters, Neo (Keanu Reeves) and Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss), were dead.
The plot follows Neo’s life as it takes an unexpected turn when he finds himself back within the Matrix, tormented by odd memories.
Speaking about his role, Reeves said: “Lana Wachowski wrote a beautiful script and a wonderful story that resonated with me. That’s the only reason to do it.”
Ahead of the trailer’s release, Reeves and Moss featured in a behind-the-scenes video discussing how the first film affected their lives.
Reeves said: “The first Matrix felt like something beyond yourself… You’ll hear the sentence ‘The Matrix changed my life.’ I say, ‘Thank you, it changed mine too.”
The movie appears to be set at the time when Neo and Moss are re-learning about their powers, which might have been reset. As odd dreams haunt him, he begins taking a medicated blue pill which keeps him at par with reality.
However, he is lured into the other world through a red pill as he resumes his Kung-fu training, re-entering into the world of epic battles.
