The Lockdown Rap: Desi hip-hop by Indian YouTubers against Covid-19

To make the message louder and clearer, the Indian YouTube community has concocted The Lockdown Rap; the motivating track has been written by Kunal Chhabhria and Anmol Sachar and is streaming on Ashish Chanchlani Vines, the YouTube channel.

The track recognizes and celebrates the efforts of the doctors, police and other authorities, while compelling the citizens of India to stay at home and play their dutiful roles in helping the Nation push Coronavirus out.

MostlySane, Bhuvan Bam, Nikunj Lotia, Akash Dodeja, Carryminati, Anisha Dixit, Round 2 Hell and Tanmay Bhat are amongst the many lauded Indian YouTubers that have been featured in this witty brew.

With 5.9 million views, the ‘Gully Boy‘ inspired rap includes efforts by SSD Music, beats by Meatboxer and snippets of Indian YouTubers jamming to the track in their respective houses, while in lock-down.

The well-articulated and peppy lyrics do a fantastic job of reaching out to the audience in these confusing and daunting times.
