‘The Harder They Fall’ stacks huge star-cast in Western setting

Netflix has unveiled the first official teaser of its upcoming western action flick, ‘The Harder They Fall’. It is set to release on the platform in fall 2021. The highly anticipated star-studded American film, directed by Jeymes Samuel, is a revenge story starring Jonathan Majors, Idris Elba (Concrete Cowboy), and Regina King.

‘The Harder They Fall’ revolves around hostilities between an outlaw, Nat Love (Majors) and His enemy, Rufus Buck (Alba).

The teaser opens at a critical juncture when The “Treacherous” Trudy Smith (King) and Cherokee Bill (LaKeith Stanfield) are waiting on horseback for the train carrying Rufus to cover and liberate him while on the move.

A gang led by Love, including his ex-stagecoach, Mary (Zazie Beetz); and his two aliases, Bill Pickett (Edi Gathegi), and Jim Beckwourth (Cyler), is ready to “hunt down those who trespass against him with no mercy”. Unfortunately, Rufus and his crew is on their hit list.

The cold opening teases bloody shoot-outs and gory hack-and-slash action between the two pugnacious gangs, who are on an aggressive and blustery romp spewing dry humour in true Western style.

An all-star ensemble of ‘The Harder They Fall’ is supported by Delroy Lindo, Danielle Deadwyler, Edi Gathegi, R.J. Cyler, Damon Wayans Jr., and Deon Cole.

The screenplay of the action-packed film is written by Boaz Yakin (‘Remember the Titans’) and its producers are Shawn Carter (Jay-Z), James Lassiter, Lawrence Bender (‘Pulp Fiction’, ‘Good Will Hunting’), and Samuel (‘They Die by Dawn’).

The successful team of Jay-Z and Samuel of ‘The Great Gatsby’ soundtrack has reunited to write and produce the original music for ‘The Harder They Fall’.

Director Samuel believes ‘The Harder They Fall’ is a perfect addition to the Western genre and brings it into 2021 and forward.
