‘The Guide to the Perfect Family’ highlights hazards of overparenting

Netflix has dropped the official trailer of recently acquired dramedy, ‘The Guide to the Perfect Family’. The French film will start streaming on the platform from July 14.

‘The Guide to the Perfect Family’ explores the pitfalls of over-parenting that stems from parents’ discomfort as they watch their children getting hurt, fail, or make a mistake.

The film is an amusing take on a few parents from Quebec who attempt to micromanage their children’s lives in a perfection-seeking and performance-obsessed society. Their over ambitiousness and desperation to give their children the best, triggers anxiety and unnecessary pressure among the young ones.

The starcast of ‘The Guide to the Perfect Family’ includes,  Louis Morissette, Catherine Chabot, Emilie Bierre, Xavier Lebel, and Isabelle Guerard.

Originally titled as ‘Le guide de la famille parfaite’ in French, ‘The Guide to the Perfect Family’ is directed by Canadian director, Ricardo Trogi.

The original screenplay is written by Louis Morissette, Jean-Francois Leger, Francois Avard; and the film is produced by Felize Frappier and Louis-Philippe Drolet.

Audrey Gardiner, director of content acquisition, Netflix, stated that the ‘The Guide to the Perfect Family’ calls attention to the challenges of modern day parenting and assures that the film will resonate with most parents around the world.
