Bollywood star Akshay Kumar is set to make his digital debut with Amazon Prime Video’s ‘The End’ (working title). In a recent interview with Variety, the actor opened up about returning to perform high octane action sequences for the upcoming web series.
“The End takes me back to my days of stunts, something I have always had a real passion for… I’ve previously said that I’m a stuntman first and an actor second, so to go back to doing real-life, heart-raising action on set is so exciting.”
Not much is known about the series except that it is an action thriller. It is still in the pre-production phase and is set for a late 2021 release.
In July, Vikram Malhotra, the producer of the series disclosed that the upcoming project would be ready for release in 2020. Unfortunately, due to the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, the series was postponed.
Kumar made a public appearance on the launch event of the show last year, with his hands and legs set on fire.
“When did I go away from it? I have never gone away from the action. Action is within me,” he added.
Jennifer Salke, Head of Amazon Studios had previously stated:
“Akshay is starring in a big action thriller series, temporarily titled The End. It will be very exciting.”
The series is going to be one of the biggest projects created by the streaming platform in India. It will be produced by Abundatia Entertainment, the production company behind ‘Breathe’ (2018).
