Karl Urban reveals The Boys season 3 has begun shooting

After successful streaming of the first two seasons of web series ‘The Boys’ on Amazon Prime Video, the shooting for a much-anticipated season 3 has begun.

Urban took to Instagram to post a photo of himself on a flight to Canada, along with the announcement that the shooting for ‘The Boys’ will take place. Urban stated that the shooting sets will be “highly tested, PPE, zone controlled, socially distanced.”

‘The Boys’ is an adaptation of the Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson comic series. The story is set in a fictional world where supremely powerful super-heroes engage in bringing havoc and destruction to the commoners. A team of ordinary folks, called The Boys, take up the mission to bring prosperity back.

The success of the previous seasons of ‘The Boys’ had compelled its creators to work on a spin-off series. The spin-off series was announced last year, just three weeks after Season 2 took audiences by storm.

It was also announced last year that Jensen Ackles from ‘Supernatural’ was roped in for ‘The Boys’ season 3. He is set to play ‘Soldier Boy’, a character influenced by Marvel’s Captain America.

‘The Boys’ has appealed to fans by its breaking away from super-hero stereotypes, offering a completely new take on the genre.
