The Boys 2 will reveal a new addition to The Seven

Amazon Prime Video has revealed the release date and a new character for the upcoming season of their superhero drama-thriller The Boys.

Season two of the web series is all set to come out on September 4. The streaming platform took to Twitter to make the announcement:

Prime Video also released a glimpse of what The Boys‘ new season is going to be like as a new superhero, Stormfront, is all set to join The Seven and she’s already ruffling some feathers:

Based on bestselling comics by Garth Ennis, the official description of the show reads as follows:

The Boys is an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as Gods, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about “The Seven”, and their formidable Vought backing.

The cast of the show includes Karl Urban, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jack Quaid, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl), Karen Fukuhara and Tomer Capon amongst others.

Last year, the streaming giant revealed the teaser for season two of the series.

If you’ve never caught the ‘Supes’ or Billy Butcher in action, you can catch a glimpse here:

At a time when most productions have taken a hit, Amazon Prime Video is all set to create and release new content in India such as Breathe 2 and Rasbhari.
