‘That ’70s Show’ spin-off announced by Netflix

Netflix has announced that it will be developing a spin-off to the hit series ‘That ’70s Show’ in collaboration with producer Gregg Mettler which will be set in the ’90s.

The web series has been picked up for an initial 10 episodes and will also involve the original series creators Bonnie Turner and Terry Turner as executive producers and Mettler as showrunner.

Kurtwood Smith Debra Jo Rupp will be reprising their roles from the original series.

The series will be titled ‘That ’90s Show’ and the official logline states: “Hello, Wisconsin! It’s 1995 and Leia Forman, daughter of Eric and Donna, is visiting her grandparents for the summer where she bonds with a new generation of Point Place kids under the watchful eye of Kitty and the stern glare of Red. Sex, drugs and rock ’n roll never dies, it just changes clothes.”

Additional executive producers include Marcy Carsey and Tom Werner under The Carsey-Werner Company.

The original ‘That ’70s Show’ aired from 1998 to 2006 and launched the careers of prominent performers like Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, and Wilmer Valderrama.

Bonnie and Terry, along with their daughter Lindsey Turner, will also contribute as writers for the series.
