The official synopsis for the show reads:

TRacing the lives of a Lucknow University professor couple, their students, a long-lost friend, his lover, and a schoolgirl in love with an older boy, this series is a tribute to love in all its unadulterated forms.

Netflix

For centuries, the Taj Mahal has been regarded as the universal, unspoken emblem for undying and unconditional love, transcending time and culture. We believe the web series is bound to reinstate a new perspective to a concept as immaculate, pure and perennial as true love – in its romantic and platonic form.

Taj Mahal 1989 is due to premiere on Netflix on 14 February, 2020.
