Sunil Grover to lead Vikas Bahl’s ‘Sunflower’ on ZEE5

Actor-comedian Sunil Grover will be seen leading Vikas Bahl’s Sunflower on ZEE5, the streamer announced on Saturday.

With Rahul Sengupta taking the helm, Bahl will serve as the creator and co-director. The streaming platform took to their official Twitter handle to make the announcement:

Marking the director’s foray into digital space, the show is being touted as a “situational crime-comedy” web series. Revolving around a middle-class housing society in Mumbai called “Sunflower”, the eponymous web series will host a bunch of quirky characters.

Reliance Entertainment and Bahl’s production house Good Co. will be co-producing the upcoming web series. Bahl is a prominent director in the Indian film industry and has worked on several Bollywood films including Queen and Super 30.

Grover recently made a small screen comeback with the show Gangs of Filmistaan on Star Bharat, where he plays the role of a don named Bhindi Bhai. The actor has also worked in films such as Bharat, Gabbar is Back and Baaghi

With production underway, the show is slated for an April 2021 release.
