Spy thriller Tehran set to be co-produced by Apple TV+

Apple TV+ will be co-producing the Israeli-Irani show Tehran. This would also allow the streaming giant to broadcast the series on its platform internationally outside of Israel.

The series is created by Moshe Zonder – the man behind Netflix’s hit series Fauda.

It is also co-created by Dana Eden and Maor Kohn. While Zonder will also play writer alongside Omri Shenhar.

Tehran revolves around the life of an undercover Mossad hacker-agent (Niv Sultan) as she takes on her first mission that proves to be dangerous for everyone around her including herself. The mission involves disabling a nuclear reactor that could have global implications.

Besides Sultan, the cast of Tehran includes Liraz Charh, Shaun Toub (Iron Man), Reza Diako, Shervin Alebani, Navid Negahban (Homeland), and Menashe Noy amongst others.

The eight-part series is set to premiere on Kan 11 channel in Israel on June 22. Kan 11 took to Instagram to make their collaboration with Apple TV+ public:

Apple TV+ has been collecting international originals and productions under its name such as Shantaram and Pachinko. The OTT platform announced a lineup of originals and new releases such as Greyhound and Dads.
