Sparking Joy with Marie Kondo on Netflix: Clutter-eliminating expert returns

Netflix has released the official trailer for its upcoming new web series, ‘Sparking Joy with Marie Kondo’. The web series features Marie Kondo in action again. It will release on the streamer on August 31.

With her approach to decreasing clutter in our homes, Kondo, the KonMari method of organization developer, ignited a revival in 2019. The Netflix series prompted increased donations to charity shops after its premiere, as viewers considered whether their material possessions ‘sparked joy’ in their lives.

The three-part series is a departure from Kondo’s 2019 Netflix show ’Tidying Up’. Instead, Sparking Joy with Marie Kondo focuses on an “emotional tidy” of people’s lives, controlling and eliminating negative energy from their relationships, homes, and workplaces.

Kondo is set to use her method to help others achieve balance and joy in deeper aspects of their lives that can’t be solved with a few hangers and trash bags in each episode, and the show is about what lies beneath.

Her approaches for assisting individuals in bringing joy into their homes are transformative in the most unexpected and emotional ways. The new series will also give viewers an insight into Marie’s personal life, introducing them to her family and giving them a firsthand look at how she maintains her home tidy.

Marie Kondo and Takumi Kawahara executive produce for KonMarie Media Inc., and Jane Lipsitz, Dan Cutforth, Dan Volpe, Nan Strait, and Grace Lee-Toumanidis executive produce for Alfred Street. Rachelle Mendez is the showrunner and executive producer for Sparking Joy.
