Soorarai Pottru is based on Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey, an autobiography written by Gopinath. The book talks about Air Deccan, the airline founded by Gopinath.

As evident from the post, Soorarai Pottru was formerly slated to release on October 30. But the actor later explained the delay saying: “SP is a story set in the aviation industry, so we had to deal with numerous procedures and permissions, because its a matter of national security and we were dealing with real Indian Airforce aircraft and security.”

By the looks of it, the film will boast a social message, with many action sequences involving airplanes. The film also features actors Aparna Balamurali, Paresh Rawal and Mohan Babu.

It is produced by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment and co-produced by Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment. Soorarai Pottru will release in original languages Tamil and Telegu, along with dubbed versions in Kannada and Malayalam. It will release on November 12.
