For Life: SonyLIV streams punching tale of a legal fightback

SonyLIV’s latest courtroom drama, ‘For Life’, will serve a rollercoaster of emotions through the eyes of a wronged black man in an epic tale of a legal fightback. Streaming soon, SonyLIV announced the news of the Indian Premiere of the drama series through its official trailer.

The story revolves around an innocent man, Aaron Wallace, who is arrested and thrown behind the bars for a crime he didn’t commit. But instead of losing hope and accepting his fate as it is, Wallace decides to fight back.

While serving a life imprisonment sentence, he decides to become a lawyer. His fight, his struggles, his success and failures will be the main facets of the series that would be worth having an eye out for.

Originally premiered on ABC on 11th February 2020, For Life had 12 episodes, featuring Nicholas Pinnock in the titular role.

Created by Hank Steinberg, the plot is loosely based on the real-life incidents of Isaac Wright Jr. who became a legal attorney to reform the sentences of himself and 20 other wrongly-convicted prison inmates and earn justice.

A black man waging his war in and against an inherently white-dominated judicial setup will speak volumes on the racially bigoted backbone of the system. It would be interesting to see how Wallace, through all his trials and tribulations, will be able to fulfil his quest for justice, life and freedom.

SonyLIV recently announced a revamp with new original web series as well as releases for western shows, which included For Life. It also recently released the trailer for its Indian courtroom drama ‘Your Honor’.
