Sony PS5 to feature inbuilt support for major OTT platforms

Sony’s upcoming next generation PS5 console is all set to be the new in-home entertainment hub with in-built support for services like Apple TV, Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, among others.

According to a blogpost shared by Sony Head of Global Partner Development and Relations, Phil Rosenberg, the PS5 will feature dedicated gaming and entertainment spaces within its user interface, thus, nullifying the need to download the said apps from the PlayStation store.

The console will have YouTube and Twitch integrated into it to allow seamless watching and livestreaming experiences. The accompanying media remote will also feature dedicated launch buttons for Disney+, Netflix, Spotify and YouTube.

PlayStation 5 is set to launch in India at ₹49,990 and ₹39,990 for the regular and digital editions respectively. The exact date is still unclear due to Sony having copyright issues for the ‘PS5’ name in the country.
