During the trailer launch of the upcoming Netflix film ‘Mission Majnu’, lead actor Sidharth Malhotra, who plays Amandeep Singh, said that they attempted to root the character in reality.
“It’s not a James Bond character that will live on. Some people will get hurt, some people will get injured, some people will be stuck.”
He added that while this was the case, some sequences required the character to fight off opponents.
“There are certain situations where he has to resort to some extremes. The train actions that you see are something we are really excited about as a team.”
The film has been inspired by true events and follows Singh, who is tasked with one of the most crucial missions in Indian history; to infiltrate Pakistan and acquire information on a nuclear strike.
‘Mission Majnu’ will stream on Netflix from January 20.
