‘Mirzapur’ and ‘Laakhon Mein Ek’ star Shweta Tripathi has joined the cast for upcoming web series titled ‘Escaype Live’.
It revolves around five ordinary Indians who gain overnight fame and fortune through a live-streaming app. Tripathi praised it as “one of the most fantastic concepts”.
She said in a statement:
“As soon as I heard about it, there were so many other characters I wanted to play. Any actor who’s part of Escaype Live is part of one of those dream roles. There are lots of them here.”
Tripathi joins Siddharth Suryanarayan, who is known for starring in Rang De Basanti. He made his digital debut last year with Netflix’s dystopian web series ‘Leila’.
Escaype Live is being produced by Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s One Life Studios. He will co-direct the film alongside Abhishek Sengupta, who earlier worked with Tripathi in Laakhon Mein Ek.
The 35-year-old actor has been creating waves in the digital landscape over recent years. Her recent Netflix film, ‘Cargo’, was also hailed by both critics and viewers.
