Shershaah on Prime Video: Ode to Captain Vikram Batra

Amazon Prime Video has released the official trailer for ‘Shershaah’. The film is inspired by true events of the 1999 Kargil War through the eyes of Captain Vikram Batra.

Starring Siddharth Malhotra as Vikram Batra, the film also stars Kiara Advani, Shiv Panditt, Raj Arjun, Pranay Pachauri, and Himanshu Ashok Malhotra. Directed by Vishnu Varadhan, the film will mark his debut in Hindi Cinema.

“Shershaah has been an experience bigger than a film. This story is about true, real life heroes like you. And I consider myself lucky that I got to play him,” said Malhotra at the trailer launch.

At the same event, Batra’s brother Vishal expressed: “It was our dream to make a film on Vikram and it took birth in 2015.”

Kargil Vijay Divas marks the launch of ‘Shershaah,’ a film that celebrates Captain Vikram Batra’s brave and legendary spirit. It is an ode to his indispensable sacrifice in the Indo-Pak Kargil War in 1999. 

Written by Sandeep Srivastava, the film is co-produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Shabbir Boxwala, Ajay Shah, and Himanshu Gandhi’s Kaash Entertainment.

Amazon Prime Video’s ‘Shershaah’ will premiere worldwide on August 12.
