Actor Shahid Kapoor is all set to make his OTT debut on Netflix with an action-thriller movie.
With theatres not likely to open anytime soon, and the gaining popularity of OTT platforms, Kapoor becomes next in line to venture into the digital world. According to reports, the actor has penned a multi-film deal with Netflix.
The movie is based on 1988’s Operation Cactus, launched by the Indian government in the Maldives Islands. Kapoor will essay the role of Brigadier Farukh Bulsara, who led the military operation, according to Peeping Moon report.
Operation Cactus was launched to cease and control the coup d’état led by a Sri Lankan secessionist organisation, the People’s Liberation Organisation of Tamil Eelam, in the Maldives.
Currently untitled, the movie is to be directed by Aditya Nimbalkar, who has previously assisted Vishal Bhardwaj is movies such as Kaminey, Haider etc.
The shooting is to begin after the completion the actor’s current project, Jersey which is the remake of a Telugu movie of the same name.
