Sarah Jessica Parker took to her Instagram account to announce the upcoming spin-off of the popular series ‘Sex and the City’. The upcoming web project is titled ‘And Just Like That …’.
The upcoming 10-episode limited web series will be streaming on WarnerMedia owned streaming platform, HBO Max.
The spin-off will pick up the story roughly two decades later showing how the characters steer through their lives and friendships.
HBO Max earlier announced Sex and the City reboot which left the fans enthralled. Parker, Davis, and Nixon revealed the title of the venture with a short teaser.
HBO Max said in a statement:
“The series will follow Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte as they navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s”
The short teaser features busy roads of New York City with short phrases in between saying, “And just like that…” and “The story continues…”, with Parker’s voiceover.
The trio, Parker, Nixon and Davis, will also be executive producer of the web series along with Michael Patrick King, the producer of the original series and the films.
Sarah Aubrey, the head of original content at HBO Max, said in a statement:
“I grew up with these characters, and I can’t wait to see how their story has evolved in this new chapter, with the honesty, poignancy, humour and the beloved city that has always defined them.”
Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones will not be joining the cast. The reasons are unannounced.
