Sanjay Dutt’s Torbaaz also set to have OTT release

Sanjay Dutt’s upcoming film Torbaaz is set to skip a theatrical release and premiere on an OTT platform. The announcement follows that of Dutt starrer movies Sadak 2 and Bhuj doing the same and premiering on Disney+ Hotstar.

The cast of Torbaaz includes Nargis Fakhri, Rahul Dev and Pransh Chopra amongst others.

Like others, the decision to release Torbaaz on a streaming platform arises from the uncertainty of the current situation which have shut down theatres worldwide.

According to reports, the movie will be picked up by Netflix and is eyeing an October release.

The action-packed film is set in Afghanistan and revolves around the child suicide bombers of the country.

Aside from Torbaaz, many films have been forced to premiere digitally. Last month, Disney+ Hotstar revealed that it will be premiering 7 films on its platform.

Likewise, Vidyut Jammwal starrer Yaara found its release on ZEE5, while Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Gulabo Sitabo and Vidya Balan’s Shakuntala Devi found theirs on Amazon Prime Video India.
