Sadak 2: Sanjay Dutt and Alia Bhatt unmask fake godmen

Disney+Hotstar released the official trailer of its much-awaited action drama ‘Sadak 2’ featuring Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur. The film marks Mahesh Bhatt’s comeback as a director after 20 years.

‘Sadak 2’, like its prequel, is directed by Mahesh Bhatt. The film continues from where Sadak ended, although now after a big-time leap, the young Ravi, played by Sanjay Dutt has grown into a nostalgic, forlorn middle-aged man, and his love-interest Pooja, played by Pooja Bhatt, is shown to be deceased.

The trailer of ‘Sadak 2’ has a poignant start with a clipping of young Ravi driving his taxi and meeting Pooja one fateful night. Then it cuts away to the present where an aged Ravi is wistful and has not been able to recover from his lover’s demise. Closing his driving business, Ravi had almost succumbed to defeat when he meets Aryaa.

Aryaa, played by Alia Bhatt is a fiery young girl who sets on a quest to expose the fake godmen who continue to wield enough power and importance in people’s lives. Having lost a dear one in such a fake’s trap, Aryaa along with Ravi sets out to Kailash to meet her newly-released-from-prison boyfriend, Vishal, played by Aditya Roy Kapur.

Makarand Deshpande as the malicious godman looks villainous. Alongside Deshpande, actors like Jisshu Sengupta, Gulshan Grover and Priyanka Bose as other cast members look promising from the trailer of the film.

‘Sadak 2’ unites Ravi and Aryaa. The journey that they take together helps Ravi find the meaning of his life. What started as a formal driver-passenger relationship, soon blossoms into something more meaningful and deep as the two completely different individuals evolve in one journey of realisation and introspection.

The film is to premiere on Disney+Hotstar on August 28 as one of the films in the streaming platform’s movie release marathon, which also comprised late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s last film, Dil Bechara.
