‘Rocket Boys’ teaser celebrates Dr. Homi Bhabha’s 112th birth anniversary

SonyLIV has released a small clipping from its upcoming web series ‘Rocket Boys’. The period drama follows physicists Homi Bhabha and Vikram Sarabhai as they lay the foundation for Atomic and Space research in independent India.

As a tribute to Dr Homi J. Bhabha on his 112th birth anniversary, SonyLIV has released a small clip from, ‘Rocket Boys’.

The web series depicts the story of Dr. Homi J. Bhabha (Jim Sarbh), the Father of the Indian Nuclear Programme, and Dr. Vikram A. Sarabhai (Ishwak Singh), the Father of the Indian Space Programme.

The new teaser released by SonyLIV showcases Homi Bhabha (played by Jim Sarbh) asking two solemn individuals about their imported ties, shoes and watches.

He laments the fact that everything in India appears to be imported and says that he intends to change it. The footage shows some of the moments that lead up to the foundation of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research by Bhabha to study fundamental nuclear sciences with a focus on atomic energy.

It ends with Bhabha sharing a moment of triumph with Vikram Sarabhai (played by Ishwak Singh) as they revolutionise the fields of atomic and space research in India.

Directed by Abhay Pannu and written by Abhay Koranne, ‘Rocket Boys’ is expected to be available on SonyLIV in 2022, while no release date has been officially confirmed yet.
