Directed by Srijit Mukherji, ‘REKKA Robindronath Ekhane Kawkhono Khete Aashenni’ is an upcoming thriller web series set to hit streaming platform Hoichoi on 13th August. The streamer has released an official trailer for the same.
Produced under the banner of SVF Entertainment, REKKA revolves around the hidden story of a restaurant mysteriously named ‘Robindronath Ekhane Kawkhono Khete Aashenni’ (Rabindranath never ate here), and its enigmatic owner.
The trailer is doused in suspense as Mushkan, the owner, is tagged by the town’s people as a seductress and a witch. She even teases a journalist by saying, “I am a blood-sucking witch”.
While the restaurant is famed for its delectable savory dishes, it also serves cuisine that has been allegedly infused with Muskan’s essence. Amidst it all, five people have disappeared, deepening the puzzle.
The series is based on the namesake novel written by Bangladeshi author and translator Mohammad Nazim Uddin, which became a raging hit in 2015.
The spine-chilling thriller will star Rahul Bose in the role of NRI Bengali and journalist, Nirupam Chanda, Bangladeshi actress Azmeri Haque Badhon as the mysterious owner, Mushkan Zuberi.
Besides the two, the show also features Anirban Bhattacharya, Anirban Chakrabarti, Anjan Dutt, and Alexx O’Nell in the lead roles.
