Red Notice records biggest opening day for a Netflix film

Red Notice is an action-comedy film starring Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, and Ryan Reynolds, written and directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber. The film made its debut on Netflix on 12 November.

Red Notice has been watched for over 148.7 million hours globally since its release while also bagging the record for biggest opening day by a film on Netflix with Ryan Reynolds reacting to the news with his trademark wit.

The film is on course to become the most-viewed film on the streaming platform.

The synopsis of the film states: “An FBI profiler pursuing the world’s most wanted art thief becomes his reluctant partner in crime to catch an elusive crook who’s always one step ahead.”

This is the third collaboration between Dwayne Johnson and director, Thurber, and the second collaboration between Johnson and Reynolds.

The cast of Red Notice also includes Ritu Arya, Chris Diamantopolous, Ivan Mbakop, and Vincenzo Amato. It was originally planned for release by Universal Pictures before being acquired by Netflix.

The film is produced by Beau Flynn through his Flynn Picture Company, and by Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia through their Seven Bucks Productions banner, along with Thurber’s Bad Version Inc., with Wendy Jacobson executive producing.
