‘Red Notice’ beats ‘Bird Box’ to become Netflix’s most watched movie

Netflix’s Red Notice achieved a tremendous feat with a total of 277.9 million viewing hours (approx. 31,702 years) and counting, recording itself as one of the biggest films in Netflix’s history. The action-comedy film featuring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds debuted on Netflix on November 12.

Red Notice received a theatrical release on November 5. It also listed itself as the #1 film in 93 countries like Bahrain, Bangladesh, Spain, United States, Poland, to name a few. It stood on the number one spot on Netflix ‘Top 10’ list for two straight weeks.

The actioner pulled off this feat in just under 2 weeks beating the most-viewed 2018 Netflix film, ‘Bird Box’. featuring Sandra Bullock.

Dwayne Johnson took to his Instagram to share his elation and thanked all his fans worldwide to help achieve this milestone. The film also achieved the biggest opening weekend with 148,720,000 hours of global viewing. Ryan Reynolds celebrated this news by sharing a compilation of behind-the-scenes pictures and thanked all the viewers and the whole cast and crew.

Netflix dropped the metric of measuring two minutes of viewership of titles in October this year. The newly implemented metric calculates the total number of viewing hours to ensure “better read on viewing engagement and satisfaction.”

‘Red Notice’ returns to theatres holding hands with Cinemark, a major theatre chain in America, Taiwan and Brazil, which announced ’12 days Of Red Notice’.

Red Notice features an FBI official uniting with a wanted art thief to track the quintessential crook, The Bishop. The actioner is available for streaming on Netflix.
