Rebecca: Netflix turns goth in time for Halloween

Netflix is all set to release their new film adaptation ‘Rebecca’, under the direction of Ben Wheatley. 

Adapted from Daphne du Maurier‘s gothic classic of the same name, the movie follows the story of a young woman who marries a wealthy widower, unbeknownst to her, their happy home is haunted by the memory of his late first wife.

The trailer shows the couple, played by Lily James and Armie Hammer, getting lost in a whirlwind romance by the beaches in Monte Carlo.

The official synopsis for the movie reads:

‘A young newlywed arrives at her husband’s imposing family estate on a windswept English coast and finds herself battling the shadow of his first wife Rebecca, whose legacy lives on in the house long after her death.’

Rebecca goes live on October 21, 2020.
