Raveena Tandon to make OTT debut with Netflix’s ‘Aranyak’

Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon is geared up for her OTT debut with Netflix’s supernatural thriller titled, ‘Aranyak’.

The upcoming web series was unveiled during Netflix recent event ‘See What’s Next India 2021’, where the streamer announced 13 new original films, 15 new original web series, and more unscripted shows.

The entirety of the 2021 slate comprised of 41 announcements, making it the largest reveal by Netflix India to date.

‘Aranyak’ will see Tandon get into the shoes of a Himachali cop and mother, Kasturi Dogra, who joins hands with a city bred police officer, Angad, to track the case of a missing foreign tourist.

Things take a turn for the worst when their investigations point to an ancient Himalayan entity within the depths of the forest, that is known to have a taste for human blood.

The show also stars Parambrata Chatterjee, Ashutosh Rana, Zakir Hussain, and Megna Malik. It has been helmed by Vinay Waikul and produced by Roy Kapur Films along with Ramesh Sippy Entertainment.

Speaking about her character in ‘Aranyak’ during the event, Tandon said:

“She has incredible strength. It’s not that she is trying to level herself in a man’s world, but the way she proves herself better than anyone else, that’s what attracted me to the show and the character. Moreover, being associated with the Netflix family is a joy. Even my kids are excited and tell me, ‘Mom you’re going to be on Netflix!’ It’s a cool thing for them. I have enjoyed the experience.”
