Raktanchal: MX Player to depict history written in blood

MX Player released the trailer for its upcoming original web series, Raktanchal. The show depicts the story of a region called Purvanchal.

Raktanchal is a historical drama, inspired by the true events that took place in the state of Uttar Pradesh in the 1980s.

The trailer gives a glimpse of the bloodbath in Purvanchal. The region was torn apart and suffered as a result of the rivalry between two mafia leaders. It shows the consequences of the war fought for power and money.   

The show will also explore the connection between the politics and the activities of the mafia in the said region.

The key cast and crew for Raktanchal include Kranti Prakash Jha, Nikitin Dheer, Vikram Kochhar, Pramod Pathak, Chitranjan Tripathy, Soundarya Sharma, Ronjini Chakraborty, Basu Soni and Krishna Bisht.

MX Player released promos for Jha and Dheer’s characters via Twitter recently:

Raktanchal is not MX Player’s first original focusing on the theme of gang violence. Ek Thi Begum is an original historical drama, set in the Bombay of 1980s, which follows the life of a woman who tries to take her revenge and bring down an international mafia boss.

Apart from that, Bhaukaal is another crime drama by MX Player. In a city of Uttar Pradesh, a cop wages war against the local gangs to bring order and peace to the lawless settlement.
