Radhika Apte on ‘Monica, O My Darling’: “ACP Naidu is a part that I’ve never played before”

During a press conference for the upcoming Netflix India film ‘Monica, O My Darling’, key cast member Radhika Apte stated that the character she plays in the film was unlike anything before.

She said: “ACP Naidu is a part that I have never played before and I’m very grateful that Vasan thought of me because I don’t think anyone would have thought of me otherwise. It’s a very different part and very challenging, and out of my comfort zone so I’m very happy.”

The trailer of the film shows Apte’s character as a no-nonsense cop with an unusual sense of humour.

Apte added that for some reason, thrillers always come to her. She loves the genre and has done quite a few, including ‘Andhadhun’ and ‘Raat Akeli Hai’.

‘Monica, O My Darling’ is based on a young man (played by Rajkummar Rao), who tries to make it big by pulling off the ‘perfect murder’.

Apart from Apte and Rao, the cast includes Huma Qureshi, Sikandar Kher, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, Bagavathi Perumal, Sukant Goel and Zayn Marie Khan.

The film is set to stream on Netflix on November 11.
