Amazon Prime Video India has revealed that Radhika Apte’s debut international film, “A Call To Spy” is all set to premiere on the platform on December 11. It also stars Sarah Megan Thomas and Stana Katic.
The plot of the movie is set towards the beginning of the second World War when Winston Churchill ordered his spy agency, SOE, to recruit and train female spies. In response, the head of the operation Vera Atkins (Katic) hires two unlikely women for the job in Virginia Hall (Thomas) and Noor Inayat Khan (Apte).
According to the official description:
“The spies, referred to by The Irish Times as ‘Churchill’s wonder women,’ had a daunting mission: conduct sabotage and build a resistance.”
Talking about A Call To Spy finally coming to India, Apte said:
“I couldn’t be happier to be an integral part of this film, working alongside such an incredible cast from around the globe and I am extremely excited about the movie’s release.
“Since it has already premiered on globally, I have been waiting for the moment where Indian audiences get the chance to watch this thrilling spy drama. I am hoping that they too will shower the same love and appreciation that we received from other parts of the world.”
A Call to Spy has been directed by Lydia Dean Pilcher and is based on a true story.
