Prime Video’s ‘Ek Mini Katha’ uses humour to address sensitive issue

Amazon Prime Video has released the trailer of ‘Ek Mini Katha’, an offbeat Telugu comedy-drama revolving around a tabooed subject. The movie will be out for streaming on 27 May.

Ek Mini Katha follows the story of Santosh, a guy suffering from a psychological problem, leading him to be insecure about his size. As he struggles to find a solution, he drops the idea of marriage. But he finds himself in a troubling situation when he meets Amrutha and falls for her.

The trailer introduces Santosh as a troubled character since his childhood. As he tries to solve his problem, he often finds himself in embarrassing situations. There are many comic scenes that will evoke laughter among the viewers, while conveying an important message.  

Ek Mini Katha is directed by debutant director Karthik Rapolu, and produced by UV Concepts. The movie stars Santosh Sobhan, Kavya Thapar, Shraddha Das, Brahmaji, Sudharshan, Sapthagiri, and Posani Krishna Murali.

Sharing the excitement for the movie, Sobhan said in a statement: “It was an absolute riot while filming this movie. The writing and the direction was so spot on that playing the character came easily to me. “. He added “The fact that this topic is so ingrained in reality that the finer nuances of the character was not very difficult to portray. The film is an absolute delight to watch, and I can’t wait for audiences to watch it either.”

Ek Mini Katha was earlier going to get a theatrical release. But due to the ongoing pandemic, the movie will skip theatres and release on Amazon’s streaming service.
