Prime Video’s ‘Cold Case’ brings in supernatural elements in police investigation

Amazon Prime Video has released the official teaser of its upcoming mystery thriller movie, ‘Cold Case’. The film will hit the streaming service on June 30.

While maintaining the ambiguity, the minute-long teaser gives us a peek into the tone of the movie. The trailer opens with moody lighting and glimpses of a blood-stained floor and a doll.

A character can be heard in the background talking about the secrets left on the earth by spirits. Another part of the trailer shows a crime scene, which leads a cop on further investigation, who prefers logic over faith.

‘Cold Case’ is helmed by Tanu Balak, and produced by Anto Joseph Films and Plan J Studios. The movie features Prithviraj Sukumaran, Aditi Balan, and Suchitra Pillai in lead roles

Explaining the reason for going with an OTT release for Cold case, Anton Joseph said in a statement:

“These films will only recover their production costs only if 100 per cent occupancy is allowed. Since there is no clarity on when the theatres will reopen and given the existing economic hurdles, I’m trying for an OTT release for these films.”

As per the reports, Amazon has also acquired the rights for the Fahadh Faasil starrer ‘Malik’, from the producer. But an official confirmation is still awaited.
