Piracy website TamilRockers reportedly shut down

Piracy website TamilRockers has reportedly been shut down, just days after leaking Amazon Prime Video’s anthology film Putham Pudhu Kaalai.

The website has made a name for itself for leaking both OTT and theatre titles in different languages: Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, English, Malayalam, Kannada.

With the pandemic forcing theatres to shut down, its recent victims have all been on digital.

ZEE5’s Khaali Peeli, Disney+ Hotstar’s Hostages 2 and Netflix’s Bulbbul are just some names in a long list of leaks by TamilRockers.

The website has been taken down after regularly being on the receiving end of a number of DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) complaints.

While this comes as a sigh of relief for platforms and production houses, the piracy website is known for shifting domains each time it’s shut down.

The collective entertainment industry will be hoping this is finally the end of TamilRockers.
