Ritesh Batra’s sophomore Indian-International film Photograph has begun streaming on Amazon Prime Video. It is a coming-of-age romantic drama starring renowned actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Dangal alum Sanya Malhotra in the lead role.

The story follows the life of street photographer Rafi (Siddiqui), who finds himself in a fix with his grandmother (Farrukh Jaffar) constantly nagging him to get married. In a move of desperation, he photographs a stranger named Miloni (Malhotra) and convinces his grandmother of being affianced to her.
When his grandmother becomes impatient about meeting her future granddaughter-in-law, he tracks down Miloni to seek for her help who readily agrees to pose as his fiancé. Despite the vast differences in their lifestyle the two manage to form a unique co-dependence.
The 1 hour 48 minute film is an ode to the multicultural and diverse city of Mumbai that the two protagonists establish as their haven while embarking on this interesting journey.
Ritesh Batra is the mastermind behind the famed Indian-International crossover film The Lunchbox, which also starred Siddiqui in a supporting role.
Photograph had its premiere at 2019 Sundance Film Festival and its European premiere at the 69th Berlin film Festival. It is set to release in the United States on 17 May.
