Directed by Eashvar Karthik, Penguin is produced by Karthik Subbaraj’s banner Stone Bench.

Penguin is the story of a mother (played by Suresh) whose child gets kidnapped by a serial killer wearing a Charlie Chaplin mask.

The recently released trailer builds an eerie presence around the film. Intense background score paired with a murderer slashing flesh sets up the grave story efficiently. It depicts the lengths a mother would go to for her child with precision.

The movie was set for a theatrical release in summer, 2020, but due to the coronavirus pandemic halting all in-person commercial activities, Suresh’s film is now heading straight for a digital premiere on Amazon Prime Video.

The music in the film is by Santhosh Narayana and Khartik Phalani is majoring the cinematography.

The platform has already made some high-profile announcements, including the release of Ayushmann Khurrana and Amitabh Bachchan’s Gulabo Sitabo.

The film will release exclusive on Amazon Prime Video on June 19. It will be available in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.
