Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj delays release of new episodes

Netflix’s Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj has pushed its release date for new episodes amidst coronavirus fears across the world.

The show’s quirky host Hasan Minhaj took to Instagram to make the announcement:

The announcement comes post Netflix’s decision of halting all productions for a couple of weeks due to the rising spread of Coronavirus.

Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj was all set to return on the upcoming Sunday – March 29, 2020 on Netflix. The streaming giant also ordered an extra seven episodes for the new season. However, as part of safety and precautionary measures, productions were stopped midway.

Minhaj has previously tackled gripping issues in the earlier seasons including oil crisis, fast fashion, student loan debt, match-fixing and Indian elections.

He has also been selected to host the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner for the second time.

The web series was awarded an Emmy Award for Outstanding Motion Design last year. Prior to that, it also gained a Peabody Award and a Webby for its work.

Coronavirus has affected productions globally in the film, TV and web industry.

Seasons and shows are being held back after streaming platforms like Apple TV+ and Disney also announced delays in productions.
