Apple TV+’s ‘Pachinko’ is the story of Kim Sun Ja and her life with her husband as a Korean in Japan during the times when Korea was under Japanese rule.

Release date

‘Pachinko’ is set to stream on Apple TV+ from March 25th, 2022.

Synopsis

The series is based on the 2017 novel “Pachinko” by Lee Min-Jin. The first three episodes will air on March 25th and the following five episodes will premiere on a weekly basis on Fridays.

Pachinko is the story of a young Kim Sun Ja who lives in Korea, which is ruled by Japan. She falls in love with Koh Han Su and gets pregnant with his child. Later, she discovers that he is a married man. The priest Baek Isak marries her and they move to Japan.

The series follows their new life and struggles in Japan. It’s about the various choices they make, the difference in generations and “war and peace, love and loss, triumph and reckoning.”
