Out of Love: Hotstar’s adaptation of BBC drama Doctor Foster

Hotstar has released the trailer for its upcoming special Out of Love. The Indian adaptation of the BBC drama Doctor Foster stars Purab Kohli and Rasika Dugal in the lead.

The show revolves around the life and marriage of 37-year-old Dr. Meera Kapoor (Dugal).

Meera is portrayed as a doting mother, wife and a successful doctor. However, things get messy when Meera starts to suspect her husband Akarsh Kapoor (Kohli) of having an affair.

As per Hotstar’s official description of the show, Out of Love explores “the emotional and psychological dilemma that erupts from complex relationships”.

The complex tale asks the question: Once cheated on, do you fall out of love? Or do you forgive out of love?

The Hotstar Special also stars Raazi’s Soni Razdan alongside Aanjjan Srivastav, Harsh Chhaya and Sanghmitra Hitaishi.

It is directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia and Aijaz Khan. Dhulia is known for his critically acclaimed movie Saheb, Biwi our Gangster.

Both Dugal and Kohli have been a part of the digital space before. While Kohli’s Typewriter received positive reactions, Dugal has been widely appreciated for her roles in Mirzapur, Delhi Crime and Made in Heaven (MIH).

Out of Love marks Hotstar’s sixth original series after hits like Criminal Justice and the Indian adaptation of The Office.

The show will be premiering on November 22, 2019, on Hotstar VIP. You can catch the trailer here:
