With the year 2020 putting forth the need for OTT platforms more than ever, even regional cinema has taken a liking for it. Cashing on the trend, comes ‘FILIM’ an exclusive Telugu content based OTT app which is all set for the grand launch in a few weeks.
It isn’t the first time that Telegu films will stream online on a dedicated platform. Before this, an app called Aha was also launched. But unlike any other app, FILIM will boast a very low subscription price as its USP.
It’s an Android-based mobile OTT app that can be viewed on TV through the ‘casting’ option. It will be the cheapest among any of its competitors.
Set up by a group of young entrepreneurs, FILIM app provides a wide range of content in the form of movies, web series, and independent movies.
The first film to stream on it would be Vijay Sethupathy starrer Pizza 2.
With OTTs on the rise especially since the pandemic kicked in, this app could lend a big hand in giving Telugu films a recognition. Research indicates that, even in post-COVID19 times, OTTs will continue their dominance.
