Hulu’s comedy murder mystery series Only Murders in the Building was the winner in three categories at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards 2022.
Nathan Lane, who plays Teddy Dimas in the series, won in the ‘Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series’ category. It was a record seventh nomination for him in the ‘Guest Actor’ category.
The show also came out on top in the ‘Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Program (Half-Hour)’ and ‘Outstanding Sound Mixing For a Comedy or Drama Series (Half-Hour) and Animation’ categories.
Overall, it had secured 17 nominations. Only season 1 was considered for the awards this year, as season 2 only just concluded.
The first instalment followed the murder of Tim Kong, while the second is based on the death of Bunny Folger. The finale of the second season received a 4.5 rating from The Envoy Web.
The primary cast of the series includes Steve Martin (Charles-Haden Savage), Martin Short (Oliver Putnam), Selena Gomez (Mabel Mora), Aaron Dominguez (Oscar Torres – season 1), Amy Ryan (Jan Bellows – season 1) and Cara Delevingne (Alice Banks – season 2).
Martin and John Hoffman are creators of the series. Only Murders in the Building has already been renewed for season 3, which will focus on the death on stage that was shown at the end of the second season.
The platform released a behind-the-scenes featurette for season 1 last year.
