Netflix’s new horror series Locke and Key gets a release date

Netflix has confirmed that its upcoming horror-thriller series, Locke and Key will premiere on 7 February, 2020.

The news comes after Netflix revealed that its successful horror anthology series, The Haunting of Hill House, will have a second installation that will go by the title, The Haunting of Bly Manor.

Based on the best-selling IDW graphic novel of the same name by Joe Hill (son of Stephen King) and Gabriel Rodriguez, Locke and Key will comprise of 10 episodes.

The story plot follows the three Locke siblings on their quest to uncover the mystery behind the magical keys that they discover in their new home. They believe that the keys have an uncanny association with their father’s death.

The series stars Connor Jessup from American Crime, IT alum Jackson Robert Scott, and Ghostland’s Emilia Jones as the Locke children and Scandal alum Darby Stanchfield plays the mother.

Sherri Shaum (The Fosters), Griffin Gluck (Tall Girl), Laysla De Oliveira, Petrice Jones, Thomas Mitchell Barnett (21 Jump Street), Felix Mallard (Happy Together), Kevin Alves (Shadowhunters), Asha Bromfield and Eric Graise also star in recurring roles.

The official synopsis for the series by Netflix reads:

After their father is murdered under mysterious circumstances, the three Locke siblings and their mother move into their ancestral home, Keyhouse, which they discover is full of magical keys that may be connected to their father’s death. As the Locke children explore the different keys and their unique powers, a mysterious demon awakens – and will stop at nothing to steal them.

From Carlton Cuse(Lost, Bates Motel) and Meredith Averill (The Haunting of Hill House),the seriesis a coming-of-age mystery about love, loss, and the unshakable bonds that define family.
