Father Soldier Son: Netflix documentary on post-war family dynamics

With the official trailer of Father Soldier Son released, Netflix’s new documentary original is set on the themes of military repercussions and emotional rediscoveries.

Directed by Leslye Davis and Catrin Einhorn, Father Soldier Son, shot over 10 years, outlines the life of an American war veteran and his changing emotional dynamics with his spouse and two sons. After amputation of his leg, a result of a war tragedy in Afghanistan, the story will trace his struggle to cope up with the post-war life while his sons grow up with their share of struggles.

As a single father and a serving army man, Sgt. Brian Eisch plays a dual role towards his family and nation. Father Soldier Son, will tend to themes of love, loss, sacrifice and redemption, set in an inter-generational context.

With stellar documentaries like Spelling the Dream and Lenox Hill, Father Soldier Son will be the latest addition to Netflix. It releases on July 17.
