Netflix has revealed the release date and poster for its upcoming movie ‘Worth’, set during the aftermath and recovery process of the 9/11 terrorist attack.
Directed by Sara Colangelo, the storyline revolves around the real-life narrative of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund.
Feinberg (Michael Keaton), an attorney and mediator designated by Congress to manage the fund, has been confronted with the daunting task of evaluating what a life is worth to the families who have lost loved ones.
Feinberg and his team set out for the task as the country continues to suffer from the unfathomable aftereffects of 9/11. Amy Ryan appears as Camille Biros, the firm’s head of operations, with Stanley Tucci, a community organizer who lost his wife in the attacks.
The 2020 biographical film is based on the novel What Is Life Worth?: The Unprecedented Effort to Compensate the Victims of 9/11 by Kenneth R. Feinberg. Max Borenstein penned down the screenplay.
It garnered much appreciation at its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 24, 2020. Matt Goldberg of Collider called the film “a thoughtful procedural about the conflict between compassion and pragmatism” while appreciating Keaton and Tucci’s performances.
The film’s posters, actors, and plot summary all make overt references to ‘Spotlight’, another procedural based on a real true story in American history.
Furthermore, the film also has Tate Donovan, Shunori Ramanathan, Talia Balsam, Laura Benanti, Marc Maron, Ato Blankson-Wood, Chris Tardio, Carolyn Mignini, and Victor Slezak as its cast.
The movie is all set to hit the screens of the OTT platform Netflix in a limited release on Friday, September 3, 2021.
