Netflix India has announced a brand new revenge thriller film titled, ‘Thar’. It stars Anil Kapoor, Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Satish Kaushik in pivotal roles.
According to official sources, ‘Thar’ takes inspiration from Western Noir genres, and chronicles the journey of Siddharth (Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor) in the ’80s. He moves to Pushkar, Rajasthan, to complete a job with an intention of avenging his unfortunate past.

Talking about the film, Anil Kapoor said, “I am extremely proud of what we have achieved with Thar and am super excited about the film for several reasons. The genre itself – a noir thriller set in Rajasthan that pays tribute to the genre of the classic Western is a first for Indian cinema and audiences. Thar is a playground where the dynamism of new blood meets the experience of industry stalwarts, both on and off screen.”
Adding to that, Pratiksha Rao, Director, Films and Licensing, Netflix India, said, “At Netflix, we are huge fans of films, just like our members. The film has been written and directed by Raj Singh Chaudhary and also marks his debut as a director. It will be produced by Anil Kapoor Film Company (AKFC). The release date is still under wraps.
