Netflix tosses a coin to ‘The Witcher’ with first look for season 2

Netflix has treated fans to the first look of Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia for The Witcher season 2.

The white haired monster hunter can be seen sporting a new armour in the pictures released by the platform which hints at a more action packed second outing.

Cavill himself unveiled the upgraded look via his Instagram handle:

He used an excerpt from one of The Witcher writings, by author Andrzej Sapkowski, for the caption, that said:

“‘It may turn out,’ said the white-haired man a moment later, ‘that their comrades or cronies may ask what befell these evil men. Tell them the Wolf bit them. The White Wolf. And add that they should keep glancing over their shoulders. One day they’ll look back and see the Wolf.’”

Initially slated to begin in February this year, the production for season 2 was halted due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, filming resumed in August and if there are not any further delays, the sequel season of The Witcher should be upon us by next year.

The show will see Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, Joey Batey, Eamon Farren, MyAnna Buring, Royce Pierreson, Mimi Ndiweni, Anna Shaffer, and Mahesh Jadu return for season 2.

Joining them as freshers will be Kristofer Hivju, Yasen Atour, Agnes Bjorn, Paul Bullion, Basil Eidenbenz, Aisha Fabienne Ross, and Mecia Simson.

There is no official release date yet.
