Netflix’s Stranger Things season 4 adds 8 new cast members

Netflix’s science-fiction horror series ‘Stranger Things’ has added four each of series regulars and recurring actors in the fourth season.

Robert Englund, Jamie Campbell Bower, Eduardo Franco, and Joseph Quinn have joined as series regulars while Tom Wlaschiha, Sherman Augustus, Mason Dye, and Nikola Djuricko will be the recurring cast members.

Robert Englund will portray Victor Creel, a disturbed and intimidating man who is imprisoned at a psychiatric hospital for a gruesome murder he committed in the 1950s.

The veteran actor is one of the only three actors to have played a horror character eight consecutive times. He is known for his role of Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare on Elm Street and its sequels.

Jamie Campbell Bower will enact Peter Ballard, an orderly working at the psychiatric hospital mentioned above. Caring by nature, he grows tired of the constant brutality he witnesses there.

Bower is well-known for his portrayals of Jace in The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones and the young Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

Eduardo Franco will join as Argyle, a pizza-delivery guy who is a stoner and the best friend of Jonathan Byers. Franco is known for his role as Theo in Booksmart, a 2019 coming-of-age buddy comedy film.

Joseph Quinn will be introduced as Eddie Munson, the leader of the official D&D club of Hawkins High School, the Hellfire Club. The title of the first episode of season four is Chapter One: The Hellfire Club. Munson is a fearless 80’s metalhead who finds himself at the terrifying epicentre of this season’s mystery.

Quinn is better known as Tsarevich Pavel from Catherine the Great and Leonard Bast in Howards End.

Tom Wlaschiha will play Dmitri, a Russian prison guard who befriends Hopper. Smart, cunning, and charming are the three words that best describe his character.

The German actor is best known for his roles of Jaqen H’ghar in the Game of Thrones and as Max Schenkel in Jack Ryan.

Sherman Augustus will join as Lt. Colonel Sullivan, who believes he can put a stop to all the evil happenings in Hawkins once and for all. Augustus is better known as Nathaniel Moon from Into the Badlands.

Mason Dye will portray Jason Carver, a rich athlete dating the most popular girl in school, who seems to have it all. But, his perfect world begins to unravel as a new evil threatens Hawkins.

Dye is known for playing Rick Kentwood in The Goldbergs and as Tom in Bosch.

Nikola Djuricko will enact Yuri, an eccentric Russian smuggler who enjoys bad jokes, cold hard cash, and crunchy style peanut butter. The Serbian actor is known for his roles in Genius and Legends.

Season four of Stranger Things resumed production only last month after being held up due to the pandemic. With the new characters being introduced and with Netflix’s earlier statement of “a new horror is beginning to surface, something long-buried, something that connects everything…”, there is much to look forward to in the new season.
