Netflix has revealed that one of its most popular anime offerings, The Seven Deadly Sins, will return to the platform on August 6.
Titled ‘The Seven Deadly Sins: Imperial Wrath of the Gods’, it picks up from the end of season three which sees the Sins, led by Meliodas, quell the threat of the Ten Commandments serving under the demon king.
With a few Commandments taken down, Meliodas and group decide to put a permanent end to the demons.
The new season has already been airing in Japan from 22 September 2019. Netflix, which has licensed The Seven Deadly Sins for an English release, will be rolling out the anime worldwide.
It has also signed deals with six Japanese creators for more anime originals. Netflix is perceived to be working on its anime content library in an attempt to compete with Disney, which took away all its animated content from Netflix for its own streaming platform: Disney+.
